Photos 01 to 17 feature various views of and from, the Lowry Hotel and Trinity bridge.
The Lowry Hotel (50 Dearmans Place, Chapel Wharf, Manchester) is Manchester’s only 5 start hotel. Part of the Chapel Wharf development on the banks of the River Irwell on the central Salford-Manchester boundary. The Lowry Hotel has 165 bedrooms, and has won numerous awards as you can see on their website. This has to be one of the most luxurious hotels I have ever stopped in and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to make a special trip to Manchester.
Trinity Bridge is a footbridge across the Irwell River, Designed by the Spanish engineer Dr Santiago Calatrava opened 25 September 1995. In the center of this fork is the single 41-meter pylon that supports the structure, angled dramatically towards Salford, away from the river crossing that hangs from it. You can use Trinity bridge to get from the Lowry Hotel to the heart of the city which is very handy as its only 5 minutes away by foot.
If you get a riverside view room at the Lowry then you will get an excellent view of the bridge which is illuminated at night.
Photos 18 to 24 were taken at a visit to ‘the Quays’ Greater Manchester’s Waterfront.
